Mirjana Novaković was born in 1966 in Belgrade. Since then she has written:
Dunavski apokrifi (The Danube Apocrypha), a novelette collection, 1996
Strah i njegov sluga (Fear and Servant), a novel, 2000
Johann’s 501, a novel, 2005
Strah i njegov sluga has been a finalist for the NIN Award and received the ’Isidora Sekulić’ Award. A play produced after the motifs from this novel was staged at the BELEF festival in 2003. The novel has been translated into French and published under the title La Peur et son valet by GAIA Editions in 2006. The same title was translated into English in 2009 and published as Fear and Servant by Geopoetika. So far it has had seven Serbian editions.
Johann’s 501 has been included in the shortlist for the NIN Award and received the ’Lazar Komarčić’ Award for the best SF novel of the year in Serbia.
