He has been among the top candidates for the <em>Nobel Prize<\/em> for literature in the last several years.<\/p>\n<p>Grossman has been presented with numerous awards including <em>Chevalier de l\u2019Ordre des Artes et des Lettres<\/em> (France), <em>Valumbrosa Prize<\/em> (Italy), <em>Prix Eliette Von Karajan<\/em> (Austria), <em>Premio Grinzane<\/em> (Italy), <em>PremioMondelo<\/em> (Italy), <em>Vittorio de Sica Prize<\/em> (Italy) t<em>he Marsh Award for Children\u2019s Literature in Translation<\/em> (UK), the<em> Juliet Club Prize<\/em> (Italy), the <em>Buxtehuder Bulle 2001<\/em> (Germany), the <em>Sapir Prize<\/em> (2001), the <em>Premio per la Pace e l\u2019Azione Umanitaria 2006<\/em> (City of Rome\/Italy), <em>Onorificenzadella Stella SolidaritaItaliana<\/em> 2007, <em>Premio Ischia \u2013 International Award for Journalism 2007<\/em>, the <em>EMET Award 2007<\/em> (Israel), the <em>Geschwister Scholl Prize 2008<\/em> (Germany) and the <em>Albatros 2010<\/em> awarded by the <em>Guenther Grass Foundation<\/em>.
