He graduated from the Department of Comparative Literature and Theory of Literature at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, receiving his PhD from the same Faculty. He is employed in Comprehensive High School \u201cDu\u0161an Vasiljev\u201d in Kikinda and holds the position of the manager of the Regional North-Banat Centre for Talents of the same name. He is a volunteer editor of a part of the literary programme for the needs of the National Library \u201cJovan Popovi\u0107\u201d in Kikinda, where he organised a Creative Reading Workshop. With Vladimir Arseni\u0107, he leads a Creative Writing Workshop in Belgrade, as well as the publishing house \u201cPartizanska knjiga\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Srdi\u0107 has authored the <u>novels<\/u> <em>Mrtvo polje (<strong>Dead Field<\/strong>, <\/em>2010), <em><strong>Satori<\/strong><\/em> (2013), and <em>Srebrna magla pada (<strong>A Silver Fog Is Coming Down<\/strong>,<\/em> 2017), <u>story collections<\/u> <em><strong>Espirando<\/strong><\/em> (2011) and <em>Sagorevanja (<strong>Burnings Down<\/strong>, <\/em>2014), as well as a <u>book of essays<\/u> <em>Zapisi iz \u010ditanja (<strong>Records from Readings<\/strong>,<\/em> 2014).<\/p>\n<p>He has received the following awards: <em>Ulaznica<\/em> (2007), <em>Laza Lazarevi\u0107<\/em> (2009), <em>Biljana Jovanovi\u0107<\/em> (2012), <em>Edo Budi\u0161a<\/em> (2012), as well as a scholarship of the <em>Borislav Peki\u0107 <\/em><em>Foundation<\/em> (2010).<\/p>\n<p>Tekstovi i knjige Sr\u0111ana Srdi\u0107a prevedeni su na engleski, nema\u010dki, ukrajinski, makedonski, rumunski, slovena\u010dki, albanski i ma\u0111arski jezik. \u017divi u Mikro-naselju, pored Kikinde. Sr\u0111an Srdi\u2019\u0107s texts and books have been translated into English, German, Ukrainian, Macedonian, Romanian, Slovenian, Albanian and Hungarian.<\/p>\n<p>He lives in \u201cMikro-naselje\u201d, near Kikinda.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>FROM REVIEWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It has been noted that the literature of Sr\u0111an Srdi\u0107 and especially <em>A Silver Fog Is Coming Down<\/em> requires a patient, persistent and concentrated reader, as well as a reader of exemplary reading competencies. However, I dare say that Srdi\u0107\u2019s literature, above all, requires an open reader, a reader ready to risk, ready for self-exposure, a reader ready for <em>insomnia<\/em>. A reader ready to enter the labyrinth without a guarantee that he will be able to catch the thread that will take him out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>\u017darka Svir\u010dev<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The latest novel by Sr\u0111an Srdi\u0107 could suffer the fate of Ulysses &#8211; many will not finish reading it. And those who finish reading it will sometimes need a confirmation that they have understood everything correctly, even though they are aware of the fact that it is legitimate \u201cnot to understand the game\u201d in postmodernist novel (Eco\u2019s words) or, at least, not to take the whole thing seriously. With Srdi\u0107, as with Joyce, it becomes serious, at least from the moment when he manages to touch the opaque depths of a human being.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Jelena Kne\u017eevi\u0107<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sr\u0111an Srdi\u0107 always makes me read twice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Davor Beganovi\u0107<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Srdi\u0107\u2019s narrative is linguistically flawless, authentic and emblematically recognisable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Mladen Veskovi\u0107<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Srdi\u0107 may not be able to escape his themes that are really very painful, but his approach is getting decentralised, it moves and conquers new fields of meaning and style.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>Sr\u0111an V. Te\u0161in<\/em><\/p>\n<p>However, although he counts on having a small number of readers and that his books will not be recommended to everyone, Sr\u0111an Srdi\u0107 does not accept compromises.
