August 1967. She enrolled the Hungarian Language and Literature Department of the Faculty of Liberal Arts in Novi Sad, and received her diploma in 1991. She is a professor of Hungarian language and literature by profession.<br \/>\nShe was working at the Novi Sad Television from 1987 to 1991. She then became a reporter to the cultural section of <em>Magyar Sz\u00f3<\/em>, the \u201dKil\u00e1t\u00f3\u201d, in 1995. In 1998 she taught hungarian language and literature in the \u201dBosa Mili\u010devi\u0107\u201d Economic Secondary School.<br \/>\nShe became the editor-in-chief of <em>\u00dczenet<\/em> in 1998. During her editorship, the periodical became available on the Internet, and the editorial was invited to several events together with other periodicals as well as to separate evenings dedicated to the \u00dczenet. It started publishing thematic issues which were an integral part of the Subotica cultural and culture-historical life \u2013 that is the reason why, apart from the writers, she enlisted several other professionals: historians, architects, ethnologists, cultural historians among her co-workers \u2013 as well as connecting to the broader \u201daudience\u201d.<br \/>\nIldik\u00f3 Lovas has been organising and presenting literature evenings in the \u201dDanilo Ki\u0161\u201d Town Library since 1998.<br \/>\nShe was the City Councillor for Culture and Information in Subotica between 2003-2010.<br \/>\nSince 2010 she is the Councillor for Culture in National Council of the Hungarian Ethnic Minority.<\/p>\n<p>Publications:<br \/>\nHer writings have been published in Serbian and Hungarian periodicals (\u201d\u00daj Symposion\u201d, \u201d\u00dczenet\u201d, \u201dRukovet\u201d, \u201dKnji\u017eevna re\u010d\u201d, \u201dMatica Srpska\u201d, \u201dEx Symposion\u201d, \u201dJelenkor\u201d, \u201dKalligram\u201d, \u201dGy\u0151ri m\u0171hely\u201d, \u201d\u00daj Forr\u00e1s\u201d, \u201dArt Limes\u201d).<br \/>\nHer short stories have been printed in several novel anthologies: Var\u00e1zsszobor (Forum, Novi Sad, 1990), Fel\u00fct\u00e9s (J\u00e1szber\u00e9ny, 1990), Kapun k\u00edv\u00fcl (Kriterion \u2013 Pelik\u00e1n, Budapest, 1993), Budapesti aggad\u00e1k (M\u00falt \u00e9s J\u00f6v\u0151, Budapest, 1999), K\u00f6nyv-Jelz\u0151 (Park Kiad\u00f3, Budapest, 2002), Huszonnyolc colour tot\u00e1l (Zetna, Zenta, 2003) and an anthology published by the Hungarian Writers\u2019 Association in 2001.<br \/>\nShe also had some of her writings published in the Serbian language in a prose collection of the periodical \u201dSymposion\u201d (Novi Sad, 1999) as well as in the book \u201dJedina pri\u010da\u201d (Forum, Novi Sad, 2003) which features the writings of Vojvodina Hungarian writers and has the title of one of her short stories as the title for the book.<br \/>\nThe Slovenian anthology titled \u201dVzvalovano Blatno jezero\u201d (\u0160tudentska zalo\u017eba, Ljubljana, 2003) giving an overview of the contemporary Hungarian novels as well as the Italian-Hungarian anthology \u201dScrittori ungheresi allo specchio\u201d (Carocci, Rome, 2003) also feature her writings.<\/p>\n<p>Translations from Serbian and Croatian languages:<br \/>\nShe translated two books by <strong>Bo\u0161ko Krsti\u0107<\/strong> (wh was both the author and the editor of the books): Gradska ku\u0107a Suboti\u010dko \u010dudo \u2013 V\u00e1rosh\u00e1za, a szabadkai csoda (1999) and Secesija u Subotici \u2013 A szecesszi\u00f3 Szabadk\u00e1n (Knji\u017eevna zajednica \u2013 \u00cdr\u00f3k\u00f6z\u00f6ss\u00e9g \u2013 Kij\u00e1rat, Szabadka-Budapest, 2002), as well as the book Sje\u0107anja (Publisher: Durieux, Zagreb, 1997) by <strong>Eva Grli\u0107<\/strong> \u2013 Eml\u00e9kez\u00e9sek (published by: M\u00falt \u00e9s J\u00f6v\u0151, Budapest, 2000).<\/p>\n<p>Her own volumes:<br \/>\nHer first original volume titled Kalam\u00e1ris (Forum, Novi Sad) was issued in 1994. It was followed by the book A m\u00e1sik t\u00f6rt\u00e9net (Osvit, Subotica) containing her short novels in 1995. Her first novel, Meztelen\u00fcl a t\u00f6rt\u00e9netben (Forum, Novi Sad) was issued in 2000. Her third volume containing short stories was published in 2001, titled Via del Corso (Orpheus, Budapest). She had three novels published in 2005: the Kij\u00e1rat az Adri\u00e1ra \u2013 James Bond B\u00e1csk\u00e1ban (Kalligram, Bratislava \u2013 reprinted in 2007), the A spanyol menyasszony (Kalligram, Bratislava \u2013 reprinted in 2008) and the A kis kavics (Kalligram, Bratislava 2010).<br \/>\nIn Serbian language, the Via del Corso, translated by \u00c1rp\u00e1d Vick\u00f3, was published in 2005 (Fabrika knjiga, Belgrade) the Spanska nevesta in 2009 (\u00c1rp\u00e1d Vick\u00f3, Fabrika knjiga, Belgrade.<br \/>\nIn German language, Zugang Zur Adria James Bond in der Batschka (Ballasi Institut, 2005.<br \/>\nIn Bulgarian language Izlaz na Adriatika Dzeims Bond i Backa (roman, Ergo, Sofija, 2008)<br \/>\nIn Croatian language Izlaz na Jadran James Bond u Backoj (roman, Meander, Zagreb, 2009)<\/p>\n<p>Awards, acknowledgements:<br \/>\nIn 1994, the Kalam\u00e1ris won the<em> Szirmai Literary Award<\/em>, which is awarded every second year to the best volume of short stories.<br \/>\nIn 2000, the novel Meztelen\u00fcl a t\u00f6rt\u00e9netben (Nude in the Story) won the <em>Bodrogv\u00e1ri Prize<\/em> as the most outstanding literary work of the year.<br \/>\nIn 2005 Ildik\u00f3 Lovas received the <em>Sziveri Prize<\/em> for her work as an author and editor, and within the same year her novel Kij\u00e1rat az Adri\u00e1ra won the <em>Bezer\u00e9dy Award<\/em>.<br \/>\nIn 1998 she received the <em>M\u00f3ricz Zsigmond scholarship<\/em>, in 2004 the scholarship for prose witers and in 2007 the <em>NKA belles-lettres scholarship<\/em>&#8230;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ildik\u00f3 Lovas was born in Subotica on 18.
