She studied dramaturgy at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts and subsequently completed a master\u2019s degree in film studies at the same faculty.<\/p>\n<p>Her writing career began at an early age. At the age of fifteen, in 1999, she received the \u201cBorislav Peki\u0107\u201d Award for the best short story for her story <em>The Swing<\/em>. Ana Vu\u010dkovi\u0107\u2019s books are rich in references to popular culture, which only a knowledgeable connoisseur such as herself can fully grasp. Her books are also characterised by numerous stories from childhood and adolescence, in which we can all recognise some part of ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to writing books, Ana is a journalist at Radio Belgrade. She most frequently reports on film, theatre, and cultural events. She is also a columnist for the online and print editions of <em>City Magazine<\/em>. She edits and hosts several programmes on Radio Aparat, an alternative internet radio station founded in late 2016.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Peki\u0107 Award for young literary talent, her debut novel <em>The Epoch of Yesterday\u2019s Demise<\/em> (<em>Epoha lipsa ju\u010de<\/em>) was shortlisted for the NIN Award in 2003. Her short story collection <em>Plush Apartment Building<\/em> (<em>Pli\u0161ani soliter<\/em>) was shortlisted for the \u201cIsidora Sekuli\u0107\u201d Award in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>She has published the following novels: <em>The Epoch of Yesterday\u2019s Demise<\/em> (2003), <em>Lust \u2018n\u2019 Dust<\/em> (2004), <em>Plush Apartment Building<\/em> (2007), <em>Surfing Serbia<\/em> (2012), and <em>Yugoslav<\/em> (2019).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ana Vu\u010dkovi\u0107 was born on 16 November 1984 in Belgrade.
