She studied philosophy at the Complutense University of Madrid. In 2015, she worked as an editor at the publishing house <em>Caballo de Troya<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>She has published the series <em>La ciudad en invierno<\/em> (<em>The City in Winter<\/em>, 2007) and <em>La ciudad feliz<\/em> (<em>The Happy City<\/em>, 2009), the novel <em>La trabajadora<\/em> (<em>The Working Woman<\/em>, 2014), the novella <em>Los \u00faltimos d\u00edas de Adelaida Garc\u00eda Morales<\/em> (<em>The Last Days of Adelaida Garc\u00eda Morales<\/em>, 2016), and the short story collection <em>La isla de los conejos<\/em> (<em>Rabbit Island<\/em>, 2019). Her latest published work is the novella <em>Las voces de Adriana<\/em> (<em>Adriana\u2019s Voices<\/em>, 2023).<\/p>\n<p>In Spain, she has received the <em>Premio Ja\u00e9n de Novela<\/em> (2009), the <em>Premio Tormenta<\/em> for Best Young Writer (2009), the <em>Premio Andaluc\u00eda de la Cr\u00edtica<\/em> (2020), and the <em>Premio C\u00e1lamo Extraordinario<\/em> for <em>Adriana\u2019s Voices<\/em> in 2023. The latter was named one of the ten best books of the previous year by the <em>La Lectura<\/em> supplement of <em>El Mundo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, she was included in <em>Granta<\/em> magazine\u2019s selection of the best young Spanish-language novelists, while in 2014, <em>El Cultural<\/em> magazine named <em>The Working Woman<\/em> one of the ten best novels of the year. In 2019, <em>Babelia<\/em>, the cultural supplement of <em>El Pa\u00eds<\/em>, named <em>Rabbit Island<\/em> one of the ten best books of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Her works have been translated into English, French, Swedish, Italian, Turkish, Korean, Japanese, and Serbian.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elvira Navarro was born in 1978 in Huelva.
