She studied Polish philology at the University of Warsaw. In addition to being a poet, editor, screenwriter, and literary critic, she writes lyrics for musical groups and is actively involved in cultural animation. She is a co-author of lyrics and a member of the band <em>Pochwalone<\/em>. She is also one of the few experts on Yiddish in Poland and an editor of the Jewish quarterly magazine on literature and art <em>Cwiszn<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>She made her debut as a poet in 2000 with the collection <em>Wra\u017cliwiec<\/em>, and in 2012 she published the collection <em>Same Same<\/em>, which was nominated for the Wroc\u0142aw Silesius Poetry Award for Book of the Year. She won the award in 2015 for the collection <em>Nice<\/em>, for which she also received the Gdynia Literary Award in 2016. In 2021, she published the poetry collection <em>Allel<\/em>. Her latest work, the novel <em>Reneta<\/em>, was nominated for the Nike Literary Award.<\/p>\n<p>Her poetry has been translated into numerous European languages, while her prose debut, the novel <em>Zdr\u00f3j<\/em> (<em>Spa<\/em>, 2020), was nominated for several awards and has so far been translated into several languages.<\/p>\n<p>Together with Jacek Dehnel and a team, she launched the <em>New Secret Detective<\/em> project, which resulted in the publication of a book (2015) and an album, as well as the creation of a multimedia exhibition and a blog dedicated to criminals and crimes in interwar Poland.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barbara Klicka was born in 1981 in P\u0142ock.
