GABI CSUTAK

Gabi Csutak was born in 1977. She is a Hungarian writer and translator. She graduated in philosophy from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania. From 2000 to 2003, she studied aesthetics at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. Since 2008, she has regularly published literary criticism, novellas, and translations of literary works from German and Romanian, and since 2011 she has also worked as a cultural journalist. From 2009 to 2011, she pursued a master’s degree in dramaturgy at the University of Arts in Târgu Mureș, Romania.
Her first collection of novellas, Still Life with a Dragon (Csendélet sárkánnyal), was published in 2017. In 2018, she represented Hungary at the European Festival of First Novels in Budapest. She currently works as a freelance journalist and translator. She lives in Budapest.
