LEIF RANDT

Leif Randt was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1983. He studied creative writing and cultural journalism at the University of Hildesheim. To date, he has published the novels Leuchtspielhaus (2009), Schimmernder Dunst über Coby County (2011), Planet Magnon (2015), and Allegro Pastell (2020). He has received numerous literary awards, including the MDR Literature Prize, the Nicolas Born Debut Prize, the Ernst Willner Prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, and the Düsseldorf Literature Prize.

His novel Planet Magnon was included by the German magazine Der Spiegel among the 50 most significant contemporary books. In 2016, he received the Erich Fried Prize. Randt’s novel Allegro Pastell (2020) was enthusiastically received by both readers and critics, with critics suggesting that every future German millennial novel would inevitably draw on it.
