ŽELIMIR PERIŠ

Želimir Periš was born in Zadar in 1975. To date, he has published the short story collections Mučenice (2013) and Žuti bog (2020), the poetry collection X (2016), and the novels Mima i kvadratura duga (2014), Mima i vaše kćeri (2015), and Mladenka kostonoga (2020), which received both the T-portal Award for Novel of the Year and the “Kočićevo pero” Award. In 2021, he also published the picture book Straška postavlja teška pitanja.

He led Ot-Pis, creative writing workshops in Zadar, and Zapisi, an association of Zadar writers with whom he organized numerous literary programmes, including the KaLibar bestiVal literary and cultural festival from 2013 to 2018. He is the author of the board game Strašne žene (2018).

He lives in Zadar, where, in addition to playing the “gusle” and writing books, he raises his many children, loves his wife, and programs highly advanced information systems.
